I want my dolly!
Why am I in love with hand-made dolls? I mean dolls-I'm supposed to grow out of that aren't I?
I really want to make one of these. (Or better yet, have someone make one for me as a gift...in my dream world)

calendar in love
i love this calendar. i want one for our art room/ office/ playroom...what about that green?
i'm liking something close to it. but am not sure I could pull it off.
and since this is the 3rd image i've snagged from the same place i thought i'd better tell myself it's here.

oh man! I love they way these pictures sort of bobble along the top of the couch. Seriously it's so interesting. I would never have thought to hang frames that way. I love it. Other interesting wall collages are here.

MY chairs
ok...so nate has been making fun of me because when we got our new table, the nice people gave us some chairs-some nice chairs. some chairs, i came to hate. not because i hate the chairs, just because i hate the chairs in the space i've got. anyway-just saturday i painted the old hand-me-down chairs we've had for ages. i used only the paint we had in the garage-no purchase necessary. Anyway...they look EXACTLY like the green and white chairs on the cover of this magazine. is that hillarious or what? see. maybe i do know what the heck i'm talking about.

Button Napkin Ring
I really like this idea from Martha:
Call on loose or mismatched buttons to serve as the charming clasps on handmade napkin rings. You'll need shank buttons, which have holes on the back. We used a variety of mother-of-pearl buttons, each about 1 1/2 inches across. Thread a 12-inch length of cording through each shank, and tie its ends in a knot. Secure knot to shank with a needle and thread so that it will stay hidden behind the button. Wrap cording around a folded napkin, looping it back over the button to secure.
You could make so many for different occasions

Bringing the Outdoors In
Found this from the author of Scribbit on designmom:
Incorporating natural elements into your rooms not only creates an inviting and relaxing atmosphere--particularly when you've got light, airy spaces with clean lines and minimal ornamentation--it's a perfect way to keep family connections alive. Experiencing nature together and creatively displaying your trophies is the equivalent of hanging pages from your family albums on the wall, children love to remember the circumstances of each find which sparks lovely conversations of "remember when?"
She had some great ideas for doing this

Tohono Chul Park
We need to check this place out before we leave Tucson. I'm also very interested in their "Gardening Where We Live Workshop" on March 1 and 8--as well as the "Designing Gardens for Children" on the 29th...Exciting!
There site is www.tohonochulpark.org
I've heard the Tea Room there is also good. It would be fun to try their Prickly Pear Lemonade!

Interesting Wall Collages
This first one is just interesting...how do they do that?
put all those things together like that?
The last 2 will be inspiration for my geneology wall. i've already started it, but it still needs some work. It's intersesting how in the first one, there is no space between the pictures. Also no visual correalation between any of them. So far, all my pics are bw and the frames are all, brown, black, or reddish...anyway food for thought. The pics in the bottom image, are all similar in that they have a white matte border and thinner frames...does it matter if they work together. I think for now mine will have to. I don't think I'm a good enough composer to pull it off without some kind of visual tie.
there's another image i've seen. i was taken in a museum- a wall collage of framed pictures, set up in a corner, in sort of diamond shape. All the pictures were about the same size. Right now all mine are all the same size. That's why that collage caught my eye...I'll have to see if I can find it.
